Our global client, with operations in Portugal, specializes in providing lime, limestone, and mineral solutions for industrial and environmental needs. They are seeking a Sourcing Manager for Large Scale Energy to procure essential resources and services for energy projects. This role involves supplier management, contract negotiation, and ensuring timely delivery within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and negotiate with suppliers for energy resources and services, ensuring favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.Manage vendor relationships, monitor performance, and address issues as they arise.Analyze and optimize costs related to sourcing and procurement activities.Mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, such as shortages or price fluctuations.Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies, while collaborating with internal teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
Additional Specific Duties:
Execute and monitor purchases, including energy procurement for all factories, within a defined geographical area.Clarify requirements, formalize consultations, select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and track deliveries.Actively participate in purchasing function objectives, focusing on performance and indicators.Define and implement procurement strategies to improve Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), manage quality, and enhance service levels.Build close working relationships with internal stakeholders, monitor key performance indicators, and support cost reduction efforts through regular analysis.The Sourcing Manager role in the energy sector requires skills such as procurement expertise, supplier management, energy market knowledge, analytical proficiency, and fluency in relevant languages. Special characteristics include working daytime hours and willingness to travel within the designated territory. These qualities are essential for effectively managing sourcing activities and meeting the demands of the energy industry.
