We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Project Manager to join Global Business Services tea in Lisbon, Portugal. As a Senior Project Manager, you will collaborate closely with our business units, serving as a project expert and trusted advisor. Together, we aim to set the highest quality standard, collaborate effectively, and diligently achieve critical goals on time and within budget - ultimately delivering value across the organization and delighting our customers.
As a leader in this role, you will play a pivotal role in establishing the standard for how we work and be the customer face of our new GBS Project Management Service. You will work within the GBS Project Services team to define and deliver service quality, acting as a project thought leader and responding to business demands for project management from mobilization to scoping, planning, tracking, reporting, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:Manage cross-functional, complex projects, leveraging your experience to establish strong and aligned project baselines. These projects often carry high risk and experience ambiguity during mobilization.Typically manage projects directly connected to and visible to Senior Leaders, delivering benefits exceeding $5-10m to the organization.Have line management responsibility for Project Managers within your wider team, recruiting/onboarding and task managing resources.Task manage project teams within a multiple workstream organization, sometimes managing more than one project where capacity allows.Adopt a coaching mentality, working to bring the team to an agreed standard of quality, sharing knowledge, and fostering accountability.Hold accountability for iterating the service within your team, encouraging teamwork and collaboration.Define, implement, and drive project governance across a complex stakeholder landscape.Capture and understand scope and requirements, gaining business sign-off before moving to design, particularly in a complex stakeholder landscape.Ensure change management is considered from the outset of the project, working closely with design as they create the solution.Work with Workstream Leads to create and execute complex and consolidated project and program plans, revising them as needed to meet changing needs and requirements.Identify actions needed to progress plans, assign individual responsibilities, and drive accountability for completion.Manage relationships with workstream leads and key business stakeholders to ensure effective capture of business requirements and understanding of the project's impact on the business.Adhere to the Enterprise PMO project management delivery methodology. Requirements:10+ years of experience in program/project management for large, complex projects.Experience managing projects in a global organization.Demonstration of strong communication and relationship-building skills, collaborating and sharing knowledge between teams.Experience considering risks, evaluating alternatives, and encouraging input from others to make effective decisions and plan mitigation tactics.Comfort and skill in operating in a complex operational matrix organization across diverse, global teams.Ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to ensure understanding and alignment.Ability to interpret unstructured information into business requirements.Ability to perform effectively when faced with unclear solutions or opposing viewpoints.Ability to effectively lead a team involving multiple business areas and diverse team member experience levels.Experience in relationship management, across relationship development, maintenance, and understanding of internal political influence.Proven track record in delivering high-risk projects.Excellent business engagement and business acumen with sensitivity to internal and external political/economic environments.Experience managing and controlling a project budget.Significant experience and skill presenting in front of C-suite/executive-level clients through written and verbal channels.Project Management Certification (preferred but not essential).Management Consulting experience (preferred but not essential).Pharmaceutical or equivalent global & complex organization experience; experience working within a quality and compliance environment and application of policies, procedures, and guidelines (preferred but not essential).
