In this position you will...support the legal, company secretarial and regulatory compliance functions by supporting the Head of Legal & Governance for Europe. You may also be required to lead a team or manage employees and/or lead in one or more specialist areas of responsibility. You may also be asked to support the bolttech Group legal and compliance function in respect of tasks in other locations, from time to time.You will be responsible for…Business Partnering:Deliver business-strategy-aligned legal services with agility;Identify and resolve legal and regulatory issues to facilitate business growth;Manage litigation and disputes;Support Product, Underwriting and Distribution teams on design of insurance products and their compliant distribution;Work closely with Legal & Compliance team members and Group stakeholders/functions including Legal, Compliance and Company Secretariat to implement regional and Group policies and standards and report on, escalate and mitigate risks and issues;Promote awareness of new laws and regulations and help establish and maintain mechanisms to monitor on-going compliance.Regulator Relationship Management:Support and, in some cases, lead communication with insurance and data privacy regulators and consumer protection bodies and help ensure regulatory readiness in time of rapid change.Corporate GovernanceAdvise on corporate governance matters for bolttech's operations in Europe.Company SecretarialManage European legal entity company secretarial matters;Maintain Group's company secretarial tool;Liaise as necessary with Group's Company Secretary.Risk Monitoring and ReviewAdvise on and support the identification and review of legal and compliance risks designing checks and balances to detect and control such risks;Contracts Preparation and ReviewAdvise and lead business/drafting and negotiation of contracts (often complex) to be entered into with external client distributors, insurers, vendors etc;Contract end-to-end process management: contract review process, contract signature rules and contract library;RegulatoryIn conjunction with Compliance, provide the business with advice in relation to statutory and regulatory obligations and issues including when structuring and developing new insurance products their ongoing implementation. Perseveres in challenging circumstances.Looks to understand bigger picture rationale for changes and adapts in a flexible and nimble mannerYou will require the following qualifications and skillsFluent in German both verbal and writtenExperienced qualified insurance lawyer with minimum seven (7) years of post-qualification experience;In-house experience (in financial services industry preferably);Experience dealing with relevant regulators desirable;Strong European insurance distribution knowledge, and ability to apply it to business products and processes;Strong commercial contract and insurance distribution agreement drafting and negotiation experience;Demonstrated technical legal expertise across legal and regulatory subjects relevant to insurance sector including data privacy, financial crime regulations (e.g. AML, CTF, IS, ABC) and corporate law. IP and GDPR experience is desirable;International experience desirable;Strong interest and proficiency in using and adopting technology.
