They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.What your background should look like:Your main tasks will be...Develop electromechanical systems integrating mechanical components, inductive systems, and small electronicsIntegrate sensors, actuators, and control systems into mechanical designs to achieve additional functionalitySelect appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize the performance and reliabilityCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectivesDevelop and test electronic circuits and systems for compatibility with mechatronic applicationsRun design verifications to detect and resolve issues during prototype phaseStay updated on emerging technologies and advancements in mechatronics, electronics, and related fieldsCollaborate with suppliers and vendors to source components and materials for mechatronic systems.Work closely together with Product Engineering, Product Management, Field Application Engineering, Simulation experts.We are looking for someone with:Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechatronics/ Mechanical or Electrical engineering or relatedProven experience preferably in the Automotive IndustryExperience with Electric vehicle components & systems is a plusProven experience in electromechanical design and integration of small electronicsKnowledge of sensors, actuators, and control systems used in mechatronic systemsFamiliarity with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and basic programming skillsStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechatronic issuesExcellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsExperience with mechatronic simulation tools and softwareFamiliarity with industry standards for mechatronic systems and electronic components.Knowledge of communication protocols such as CANGood business acumen and sense of urgency in context of speed of innovationExposure to rapid prototyping techniques and technologiesCompetenciesValues: Integrity, Accountability, Inclusion, Innovation, Teamwork
