We are seeking a Head of Construction, with very strong project management skills to join the team and manage end to end construction projects around the globe. The position will be reporting directly to the General Manager of the business. The position is based in Jericoacoara, so relocation will be necessary if the candidate does not already live there.What you'll be doing:Strategic Planning: Develop construction project strategies and long-term plans to meet organizational goals and objectivesProject Management: Oversee and manage construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budgetBudgeting and Financial Management: Create and manage project budgets, monitor costs, and optimize resource allocationTeam Leadership: Recruit, hire, and manage construction professionals, including project managers, engineers, and skilled laborContract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and other construction-related vendorsRisk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues in construction projectsQuality Control and Assurance: Implement quality control processes and standards to ensure compliance with building codes and regulationsScheduling and Timeline Management: Create project schedules and timelines and ensure adherence to deadlinesResource Allocation: Efficiently allocate and manage resources, including materials, equipment, and laborSafety Compliance: Oversee safety programs and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standardsRegulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and obtain necessary permits and approvalsStakeholder Communication: Interact with clients, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing concernsDocumentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project records and documentation, generating reports on project status, budget, and performanceEnvironmental Sustainability: Promote and integrate sustainable construction practices and materials to reduce the environmental impact of projectsClient Satisfaction: Ensure that client needs and expectations are met or exceeded and address client feedback and concernsTechnology Integration: Stay current with construction industry trends and technology, and implement innovative construction methods and toolsDispute Resolution: Address and resolve conflicts and disputes that may arise during construction projectsChange Management: Manage change orders and project variations effectively, including assessing their impact on the projectProject Closeout: Oversee the successful completion and handover of projects to clients, ensuring all necessary documentation and warranties are providedPerformance Evaluation: Evaluate the performance of construction projects and conduct post-project reviews to identify areas for improvementContinuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and best practices in construction operationsLegal and Compliance Matters: Address legal issues, including contractual disputes and claims, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulationsResource Development: Mentor and develop construction staff to build a highly skilled and motivated teamCost Estimation: Provide accurate cost estimates for construction projects during the bidding and proposal processCommunity Relations: Manage relationships with local communities and address any community concerns related to construction activitiesInnovation and Research: Stay updated with the latest construction industry innovations and conduct research to apply new technologies and methodologiesRequirementsEducation: A bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field is often required.Work Experience: Substantial experience in the construction industry, including a track record of managing and successfully delivering complex construction projects. A minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experienceReferences and Portfolio: A strong portfolio of successfully completed construction projects and positive references from previous employers or clientsProfessional Certifications: Relevant certifications such as a Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification can be advantageousPeople management: experience in managing a team#J-18808-Ljbffr
