Financial ControllerMedical Cannabis IndustryPortugal, Algarve3-4 times a week in the office located in the Algarve requiredCompany Overview:Our client is one of the leading Medical Cannabis Cultivation companies in Portugal, which is currently selling commercial Medical Cannabis into the European medical market and is now looking to hire a financial controller to help them manage this exciting growth phase.Position Overview: As the Financial Controller, you will report directly to the CEO, playing a pivotal role in driving efficiency and profitability across the organization. Your responsibilities will span from managing statutory obligations to producing insightful management reports and optimizing our ERP system for financial, HR, and manufacturing processes.Key Responsibilities:· Manage all statutory responsibilities of the company.· Produce management reports using a "bottom-up" approach to enhance operational efficiency.· Develop and oversee the ERP system for financials, HR, batch control, and cost management.· Spearhead financial planning and cash flow management.· Management of 2/3 junior employees· Liaise with stakeholders including banks, customers, and suppliers.· Oversee payroll management, invoicing, and payments.· Draft and manage budgets, control expenses, and ensure efficient resource utilization.· Supervise team selection, training, and performance.· Represent our client before authorities and third parties.· Promote effective communication and collaboration across departments.· Ensure adherence to company policies, guidelines, and health & safety procedures.· Drive continuous improvement through benchmarking and best practices sharing.· Define and execute corrective action plans as needed.Requirements:· Strong finance or accounting background· Experiance in a start-up or working in a small team would be ideal.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables/Macros), ERP systems, and SQL.· Financial or similar degree desirable· Minimum of 4 years of proven accounting/finance experience.· Flexibility and reliability in a dynamic growth environment.· Excellent written and spoken English and Portuguese proficiency.· Commitment to going to the office in Algarve 3/4 times a weekBenefits:· Salary up to 65,000 Euros· Christmas Allowance· 22 days holidays· Medical Insurance· Work Accident insurance.· 50 Euro accommodation allowance each day.If this role sounds interesting and you would like more information, please email me a copy of your CV to ******.
