DescriptionAbout the roleWe are seeking a talented and motivated Internal Counsel to join our legal team and play a pivotal role in safeguarding our company's compliance with data protection regulations, particularly the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and emerging AI compliance frameworks. You will be a trusted advisor to our business units, providing strategic legal guidance on all matters related to data privacy and responsible AI development.Your main responsibilities will be:Provide comprehensive legal advice and counsel on data protection laws and regulations, with a focus on GDPR and its impact on our business practices.Conduct regular legal assessments of our data collection, storage, and processing activities to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.Develop and implement internal data protection policies, procedures, and training programs to raise awareness and build a culture of data privacy within the company.Stay abreast of evolving data protection regulations and emerging AI compliance frameworks, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.Liaise with external legal counsel on complex data protection issues as needed.Prepare clear and concise legal documentation, including contracts, privacy notices, and data transfer agreements.The key technical and soft skills required include:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.Proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.Strong sense of commitment to data privacy and ethical AI development.Basic QualificationsLaw degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working on data protection and privacy law matters.In-depth knowledge of the GDPR and its key principles.Strong understanding of data subject rights and obligations under relevant regulations.Experience with data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) would be a strong plus.Familiarity with emerging AI compliance frameworks and best practices.Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data confidentiality.Fluent in EnglishBenefitsYou spend a lot of your time at work, so it should be challenging, fun and interesting.
