What will this role achieve? This role will lead the Customer Collaboration/Partnership agenda and have overall responsibility for customer service across our growing Convenience and Impulse channel which generates £169m net sales and growth of 24% YOY, and is expected to continue growing into 2024 and beyond.
The role will lead a team of 4 Collaboration Managers all responsible for various customers within our C&I channel within convenience, wholesale and foodservice and will report into the Head of Customer Supply. It will be first point of contact for all escalations internally across relevant times impacting the customer relationship and also externally from the customers themselves.
The role is accountable for the activity led through the team of 4 Collab Mgrs. The role will work closely with all members of the C&I Commercial Leadership team, owning the Collaboration plan for the channel and playing a key role in development and delivery of overall business priorities which will drive growth within the sector. You will also create strong working relationships across logistics, ops planning and demand planning to support growth targets within the business.
The role will be based generally out of our central Distribution Centre but with regular travel to customer head offices within convenience, wholesale and foodservice sectors.
What will be your key deliverables? Ensure pladis maintains best in class Collaboration offering to all customers Alignment of Supply Chain plans and priorities to Commercial Growth strategies across all customers including protecting & growing our managed convenience; establishing a long-term presence in Foodservice & hospitality; and building on our recent 'On the Go' success. Work with and influence all internal teams in key activities such as promotional activity, forecasting, on shelf availability, working capital, external market impacts to ensure continued focus on achieving targeted customer service levels Jointly lead with C&I Leadership Team members the supply chain and commercial top to top meetings for the channel, directly with the customer Present at weekly calls updating on service to all customers within C&I channels, on upcoming plans, capacity constraints impacting service Create and maintain strong working relationships across the wider business functions (Commercial, Logistics, Ops Planning, Demand Planning) to support decision making during supply constraints. Ownership of communication with the customer sits with the Collaboration team Oversee customer supply chain relationships with customer contact at Supply Chain manager and analyst level. Driving and leading pladis Customer Collaboration/Partnership agenda in Wholesale/Convenience/Foodservice. Gather intelligence on customer supply chain strategies and ensure we continue to lead the way for customer collaboration Oversee and deliver supply chain projects that generate revenue and/or save the business money, and remove complexity within Supply Chain to improve customer service. Example: Bestway customer consolidation of 56 delivery points to a handful of depots. Other examples include: Cost to serve modelling/route to market reviews, working closely with the Customer Projects Manager. Consistently attend and present customer service updates (plans, performance, issues) at external Customer meetings across INTERNAL Convenience/ Wholesale & Food Service accounts – ¼ reviews, Project meetings, Strategy presentations, top to tops. Ensure team focus on forecast accuracy & smooth flow of goods between customer & supplier Responsible to drive AGS performance across Supply chain and customer service categories within C&I. Attend AGS breakdown sessions and oversee improvement plans. Responsible for creating and tracking Customer Joint Business Supply Chain plans for all key Customers. Pro-active communication to Customers when there are upcoming supply issues – ensuring there is full transparency end to end. • Developing the Collaboration Managers to ensure they are equipped to meet the evolving challenges from our customer base. Leadership and development of a highly motivated, multi skilled, and flexible team of Collaboration Team to meet business targets on service and cost. Bring your experience Essential Problem-solving Analytical skills Work well under pressure/at pace. Management skills/experience Strong Microsoft Excel & Powerpoint skills. Ability to deal with conflicting priorities. Ability to influence key stakeholders both internally and externally Strong line management attributes – listening, motivation, giving feedback Innovative/Challenge the norm People skills (Building relationships quickly, strong communication & emotional intelligence). Passionate Confident in presenting to all levels. Resilience Willing to travel/overnight stays Attention to detail Desirable Experience of working with Convenience/Wholesale and Foodservice retailers within supply chain.
