This leads to improving the productivity, efficiency, and profitability of Elementis by facilitating the process of finding and designing IT solutions that meet business needs.The Business Analyst provides expert IT insight to business teams who are exploring and developing a hypothesis that could lead to an IT requirement. The role is critical to developing business ideas and needs into proposals which are sized and assessed for IT delivery.The Business Analyst provides administrative services for the whole IT department.

Responsibilities You support the P rogramme Manager working with the business to assemble a 6-month project pipeline of demand . The 6-month pipeline enables tactical delivery. To undertake this responsibility, you
Elicit and document needs and requirements from the business;
Develop the high-level hypothesis on the solution needed to meet the business needs so that the effort and time to deliver is understood.
Support projects to be prioriti z ed , resources efficiently sourced and budgets to be planned/ managed .
Business analysis
You g ather and document requirements for new or existing IT projects.
You analyze and validate requirements to ensure they are clear, consistent, and aligned with the business goals.
You collaborate with stakeholders and developers to ensure the different technical solutions are evaluated and meet the business needs.
You c ollaborate with stakeholders, developers, testers, and other IT staff to deliver IT solutions that meet the requirements , including analyzing elements of system design, such as wireframes, business rules, data migration rules, etc.
You d evelop and deliver training materials and user manuals for IT solutions for both the technical IT teams and the business users .
You f acilitate communication and feedback between the business and IT teams.
You p rovid e support and troubleshooting for the IT solutions.
Commercial management:
The Business Analyst uses his/her commercial, supplier and licensing knowledge and range of business partnerships to process invoices and purchase orders for the IT department with the key decisions being made by the budget holders (IT Director and direct reports) .
Oversee the spend landscape of the department, identifying anomalies and allocating to cost areas.
Project Management
You will manage small projects as needed . Those that do not meet the project lifecycle or rapid and regular delivery are the high est priority.
Risk and controls :
Applying the Elementis risk management framework and guidance from the programme manager, y ou e valuate project risk s and mitigations .
You e nsure that project delivery and data environments are managed as per the recommendations and advice of the security manager.
Support audits and control process documentation.
Best practice
You l ead IT change control process at Elementis .
You k eep up to date with the latest IT trends, developments, and best practices, and ensure that the IT project management methods are aligned with Elementis ' goals and strategies.
You m aintain actions and risks logs, documentation and reports of activity.

The role influences the shape of the IT roadmap by providing insights through analysis.

Technical Knowledge and Skills Business analysis is a key competence for this role to ensure business needs are captured correctly and requirements are documented in a way that can be delivered by the technical teams, and subsequently tested.
Project management using different methodologies is a key competence for an IT role to ensure activity and projects are delivered on time and on budget, and stakeholder expectations are managed.
Expertise in secure-by-design methods and principles and contemporary cyber risk controls.
Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation ( e.g. GDPR).
Position Requirements Education: Computer science , Information Systems or similar degree or professional qualification would be an advantage . Business analysis professional qualification would be a significant advantage. Experience: 3 + Y ears of experience as a business analyst in IT delivery context, covering needs and requirements documentation, IT delivery team support and testing. You can demonstrate the development and delivery of training materials. You have experience of managing small and simple projects. International experience, dealing with colleagues in an international context. IT Skills: Extensive competence in standard business analysis and change management . Elementis' core systems are Microsoft infrastructure and collaboration tools . You will be proficient with business analysis and project management tools . Language Skills: V erbal and written fluency in English .
