[About the position]The tutor follows a group of 15-20 mentors (professionals from a variety of fields recruited by Teach For Portugal who work in partner schools) in their personal and professional development, identifies their needs, and strengthens and supports their leadership development inside and outside the classroom, and delivers pedagogical training.The tutor is responsible for promoting the results of the mentors within the Teach For Portugal Leadership Development Program and the impact they create in their schools and communities.
Specifically, the pedagogical tutor:supports and orients the Mentor's impact in their schools and communities; leads monthly in-person classroom observations, reflection, and feedback sessions, working for the mentors' pedagogical competencies; promotes and monitors the leadership development of each mentor, involving them in the entire training process; promotes maximum collaboration between mentors based on the exchange of experiences and good practices, guaranteeing and promoting group cohesion; supports in theplanning, organisation, and execution of the development and training program for the mentors; fosters a positive, trusting, learning and growth environment and promotes the exchange of experiences and good practices within the group of mentors; analyses field data and provides improvement recommendations to the Training team based on the feedback received and data from the field; mediates the relationship with the school community, maintaining close contact with the school management, teachers, parents, operational assistants, and the surrounding community; collaborates with the Alumni area for Mentors' professional guidance and focus on potential future intervention; supports the preparation, collection of registers, and indicators of impact assessment of the program.
[Position Requirements]For this position, we require a set of experiences and basic professional requirements, as well as a set of competencies and mindsets indicated below:Professional and Experience requirements:Experience in implementing innovative projects in the school context; Experience in facilitating training sessions; Mastery of classroom planning, assessment, and management strategies that allow students to develop academic and socioemotional skills; Experience in guiding and supervising pedagogical development (preferably); Ability to mobilize and motivate people in different environments, taking into account their needs; Experience in guiding adult personal and professional development processes, in order to support the leadership of Teach For Portugal's Mentors; Planning skills: organized, disciplined, attentive to details and easily working according to deadlines and processes; Capacity to deal with stressful situations and anxiety; Strong written and oral communication skills, both in Portuguese and English; Ease of using technological tools
