.Job Title: DevSecOps Platform Engineer – Atlassian (Senior/Lead)Location: RemoteTime Zones: EMEA (08:00–17:00 CET), AMER (16:00–01:00 CET), or APAC (00:00–09:00 CET)Client: Global Pharmaceutical Company (via leading IT services partner)Contract Type: Long-term contract / Freelance / RemoteOverview:We are seeking a Senior or Lead DevSecOps Platform Engineer with deep experience in managing and deploying Atlassian solutions (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) in on-premises, containerised environments.
This role is ideal for an engineer with strong IaC, CI/CD, and Kubernetes/OpenShift skills who is passionate about automation, security, and platform scalability in regulated environments.Key Responsibilities:Design and implement infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with application requirements and cybersecurity best practices, with a focus on on-premises infrastructures.Design and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure to support Atlassian tools using Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and OpenShift (on-premises).Deploy, configure, and manage Atlassian Data Center products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) in containerised environments.Build CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps) for Atlassian deployments, configurations, and updates.Integrate DevSecOps practices across infrastructure and the Atlassian stack, including access controls, security scans, and compliance documentation.Implement monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) for Atlassian performance and availability.Manage artefact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory, JFrog Xray) and support plugin development or integrations for the Atlassian suite.Write and maintain technical documentation (BSDS, SOPs, GxP-compliant) for platform operations and configurations.Stay current with DevSecOps trends, Kubernetes tooling, and Atlassian best practices.Required Skills & Experience:5+ years in a DevSecOps or Platform Engineering role, with strong emphasis on on-premises environments.Proven experience deploying, managing, and scaling Atlassian Data Center products .Strong hands-on knowledge of OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, and Kubernetes Operators.Expert-level proficiency in Terraform/Terragrunt, Ansible, and scripting (Python/Bash).Demonstrated experience in CI/CD pipeline development for infrastructure and Atlassian tools.Experience with IAM, user roles, and security controls in Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.Familiarity with Atlassian administration, performance tuning, and high-availability setups.Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki.Comfortable working in GxP-regulated environments and producing compliant documentation.Fluent English communication skills.Nice to Have:Certifications: CKA, CKS, Red Hat OpenShift, ITIL v4.Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST, CIS frameworks.Knowledge of Javascript (for Atlassian plugin development).Experience applying AI/ML to DevSecOps or Atlassian environments
