We're seeking a Principal Engineer (Hybrid Lisbon). Your Responsibilities: Technical Leadership & Strategy (Define and drive the technical vision for products, platforms, or infrastructure). Establish and enforce engineering best practices (e.g., code quality, CI/CD, DevOps). Stay ahead of industry trends and evaluate emerging technologies for business impact. Design and oversee the architecture of scalable, high-performance, and resilient systems. Lead decisions on cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, and API design. Document and communicate architectural guidelines to ensure consistency across teams. Act as a technical mentor for engineers at all levels. Conduct code reviews, architectural reviews, and design critiques. Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and Business Leaders to translate business needs into technical solutions. Align engineering efforts across multiple teams and departments. Ensure that systems adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements. Advocate for performance optimization, observability, and infrastructure automation. Define and monitor KPIs for system reliability and efficiency. While not a full-time coder, still engage in critical coding tasks, prototyping, or debugging.
