Pine Cliffs Resort is the leading and award-winning Luxury Resort in Europe, a hidden prime seafront location on the coastline of the Algarve, Portugal.
It is an all integrated Complex / Resort with different options of accommodation including 3 Luxury Collection properties (Pine Cliffs Hotel, Pine Cliffs Ocean Suites & SPA, Pine Cliffs Residence) and 4 un-branded properties with a total of 800+ units, all managed by Marriott International.
The Resort offers extensive leisure facilities from sporting variety in the form of golf, tennis, paddle, football, pools and water sports, to culinary diversity, reflected in a range of international and local cuisines (11 outlets). From the 7000 square meters Porto Pirata, the children's village for younger guests, to Serenity Spa - The Art of Well Being, Hairstyle beauty salon, health club, shops and boutiques for holidaying adults and families.

In addition, Pine Cliffs Resort has the capacity to host groups up to 1.000 delegates, and offer an out of the box experience for them though the great variety of outdoor venues, the largest being 4,500m2 (48,437 ft2).


Manages overall the Resort Recreation and Activities, Health Club and Fitness Center, Leisure & Sports, Golf, Kids Club, Retail, Resort Packages and Activities, conbined with the experience Guide.
Responsible for guest and employee satisfaction as well as meeting standards and financial goals.
Develops and implements marketing strategies, sales packages for all areas and programs and new concepts.
Direct interaction with the Resort Concierge due to the promotion of the sales packages and the Cross selling, Cross Marketing, and Cross Promotion.
All internal and external activities for individual and organized groups.

Education and Experience
High school diploma profissional certification; 3 years experience in the recreation/health club Leisure operations or related professional area.

3-year degree from an accredited university in Health Education, Physical Education, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 1 year experience in the recreation/health club operations or related professional area.


Managing Health Club and Fitness Center, Leisure & Sports, Golf, Kids Club, and Corporate activities and Packages.
Manages day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality, standards and meeting the expectations of the customers on a daily basis.

Schedules events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.

Develops and implements marketing strategies, sales packages and services, including special programs.

Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.

Manages outside vendors.

Orders and maintains necessary supplies and ensures workers have supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to do their jobs.

Manages Pools and Beach areas, including overall maintenance and licenses, daily upkeep and cleanliness.

Ensures all facilities are in appropriate operating condition.

Schedules work/repairs as needed with the Engineering Department.

Maintains and enforces safety standards and procedures with the recreation staff.

Ensures appropriate fees are charged to guests and that proper cash handling procedures are followed by all members of the recreation staff.

Manages operating budget.

Meet payroll need of the department.

Assists with major equipment purchases.

Provides special programming for holiday weekends and heavy transient time periods.

Plans and implements special recreational opportunities for resort guests as business demands.

Maintain and establish work relationships with 3rd parties, in all action areas.

Ensures all Resort Activities are scheduled and in place, Cultural, Sports, Venues background music, concerts, movies, entertainment, etc.

Conducting Human Resources Activities

Oversees all Human Resources activities in the Recreation area.

Oversees employee satisfaction and guest satisfaction results, and ensures corrective action is taken when needed.

Support the hires, trains, and monitors development of recreation for all areas of responsability.

Participates in the performance appraisal system process, giving feedback when needed.

Coordinates all training activities for employees in department.

Communicates expectations and performance objectives to subordinates; subordinates are also open to raise questions and/or concerns.
