Assure Finance Reporting and all ad hoc deliverables are made available to Group, in time, and with flawless data quality
Be a change management driver, aligning all contributors towards a common goal
Assisting in the implementation of a new system (JD Edwards / Oracle)
Financial Accounting
Build Budgets and Forecasts for 6 BU + PT head office
Lead preparation of Subsidiary Accounts in accordance with IFRS for all Portuguese entities, and explain differences vs budgeted/forecasted
Payroll analysis and cross-checking
Answer Group ad-hoc queries, liaising internally as needed
Monitor non-financial KPI's:enrolments, staff count, etc
Drive cost saving initiatives
Assisting finance teams in key accounting areas such as new accounting standards, acquisition accounting, fair value accounting
Liaison with external auditors, Lawyers, and any needed entities
Understand key risks and issues and provide financial reports and analysis to support the business operations and forward planning analysis on P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, Working Capital, and other financial and non-financial KPI
Development of new improved financial analysis and insight
Internal controls
Catalyst of enhanced internal controls and provider of recurring oversight of adherence
Internal audit support, including conducting on site assignments to assess, report and recommend practical improvements to internal controls and ensure best practice is spread across the organisation
Assistance in integration of acquisitions
Ad hoc as required (Tax, HR, Legal, Treasury, Co. Secretarial matters)
Acts as a business partner to the MD/CEO
Technically very strong; qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent) with +8 years post qualified relevant experience; proficient knowledge of IFRS technical accounting with strong P&L, Balance Sheet and cash flow experience, and, preferably, also consolidation experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Portuguese
Reasonable verbal skills in Spanish (preferential, not eliminatory)
Ability to set-up, manage, and develop a team; needs to be a strong team leader with real drive and enthusiasm and passion to improve things
Advanced Excel skills with proven experience of working with large financial models
Strong end-to-end process management skills with strength of character and gravitas to enforce whilst maintaining a flexible and adaptable overall approach.
A self-starter with the drive, determination and commitment to get things done
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly-growing environment
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with the capacity to multi-task over several on-going projects and delegate effectively
Well organised and good attention to detail
FMCG experience is a plus
