As the Engineering Manager for the Backend team at Indie Campers, you'll helm a skilled cadre of backend engineers. Your realm will encompass the ongoing development and optimization of our backend infrastructure, primarily built on Ruby on Rails, microservices architecture, and AWS. Your leadership will be pivotal in advancing our technical architecture and ensuring a robust, scalable backend that can support our platform's growing demands. As a fast-growing company, we have a combination of new features to ship along with tech debt to address. We're improving our backend with newer data-centric pipelines, reliable event-driven services, while keeping thousands of transactions to be delivered reliably. Read more about our technology stack here.WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?Spearhead the design, development, and deployment of backend services ensuring high performance, solid reliability, and seamless scalability towards a data-centric roadtrip platform.Foster a culture of code quality, testing, and performance tuning among the backend team.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align backend services with business objectives and front-end development.Lead the transition of Indie's platform towards a modern backend stack, exploring and integrating technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and other AWS services to enhance our deployment and scaling capabilities.Drive the adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability, ensuring the excellence and stability of our platform's backend infrastructure.Mentor and develop your team, fostering an environment of growth, accountability, and innovation
