The Role
The Destination Manger – Portugal is responsible for FIT contracting of hotels in Portugal with a strong focus on Lisbon.
The Destination Manager has ownership of all aspects of the commercial relationship and is responsible for ensuring G2 Travel has the most competitive offering.
The role will be based remotely / home office within Lisbon and surrounding area (within easy commuting distance of Lisbon) and reports into the Regional Manager.
Key Activities:
Securing exclusive rates, inventory and conditions with a portfolio of hotels through negotiations and management of supplier relations.
Regular hotel visits and business trips within contracting area.
Achieving room night and/or revenue-based targets through on-going monitoring and optimisation of the competitiveness of contracted rates and availability.
Be the hotel expert of your assigned region, having in-depth knowledge and understanding of your markets.
Identify key new strategic accounts & suppliers within assigned market to be targeted
Constant monitoring of competitiveness of negotiated and contracted rates.
Monitor usage of contracted allocations
Developing and ensuring strong relations with sales leaders and management worldwide.
Providing regular feedback and identifying any new ideas or potential issues.
Analysing and evaluating data and providing recommendations to management based on the findings.
Leading training and coaching initiatives as required and supporting with ad-hoc projects.
Represent G2 at Trade Shows and other events as required

The Requirements
Demonstrates exceptional ability to negotiate and influencehotel management teams, senior stakeholders, and hotel owners to secure favorable commercial agreements and long-term partnerships.
Significant and recent experience in hotel contractingwithin the destination, with a strong understanding of the local market, suppliers, and competitive landscape.
Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of hotel distribution, including distribution channels, contracting models, connectivity solutions, channel managers, and industry technology trends.
Strong ownership, autonomy, and proactivity, with the ability to identify opportunities and issues, prioritize effectively, take initiative, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
Data-driven and commercially focused approach, with the ability to analyze production, revenue, performance, and market data and translate insights into actionable growth strategies.
Collaborative and positive mindset, with a willingness to support colleagues, share best practices, and contribute to a high-performing team environment.
Ability to work effectively in an international environment, building strong relationships across different cultures, markets, and cross-functional teams.
Results-oriented attitude and strong work ethic, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese, including the ability to conduct negotiations, presentations, and professional business correspondence.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate data, identify opportunities, and implement strategies that drive business growth and supplier performance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for reporting, data analysis, forecasting, and performance management.
