Position Overview: We are seeking an expert-level Data Engineer with over 7 years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the ingestion and curation of new data sources into Snowflake for a leading multinational corporation. This hands-on role involves being an active part of the development team, focusing on coding, and developing data pipelines in DBT & Streamsets.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement data pipelines in DBT & Streamsets. Collaborate closely with the technical product management team to ensure work aligns with best development practices. Document and review technical specification documentation according to the company's established standards. Guide and mentor junior & offshore data engineers in their development work. Review the delivered quality of other data engineers' work. Take over temporary leadership responsibilities when internal managers are on holiday. Requirements: A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer. Multiple years of experience and deep knowledge in building DBT data pipelines in Snowflake, with orchestration using Airflow. A fast learner capable of working independently in a demanding environment; must accept that a developer might not always fully understand the data they are working with. Natural leadership abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a global team and understand how to manage a team of local and offshore developers. Experience working with productivity tools such as JIRA and Confluence. Impeccable professional proficiency in English. Preferred Qualifications: Prior exposure to work within a major pharmaceutical organization and/or a heavily regulated environment. A degree in any pharmaceutical or life sciences field.
