Purpose of the role
Leading role in the formulation, design and implementation of LSBP’s strategy in Portugal, to originate and lead acquisitions and co-development of large-scale solar portfolios/projects in Portugal.
Duties and responsibilities
Identify and develop new business opportunities.
Prepare financial model to assess the returns of the project.
Manage the Legal and Technical Due Diligence in M&A process with the support of the legal and technical teams.
Negotiate the relevant project contracts: NDA, Exclusivity, Lease, SPA, IA.
Liaise with local and national authorities, banks and private entities as well as financial institutions
Create presentations to be presented at Investment Committees
Overall understanding of the steps in the value chain of an energy project and knowledge of opportunities in energy market in Portugal
Capacity to analyse financial metrics, experience in Financing and M&A
Requirements & Essential Skills
Experience in energy firms dealing with utility-scale and/or distribution energy projects in Portugal
Experience in utility companies, generation companies or Energy concessions (Transmission or Generation) in Portugal
Complete understanding of local regulation in the Portuguese energy sector
Excellent networking with the players in the Portuguese energy sector
Total pro-business approach, supporting the development of new business models;
General knowledge of the solar industry, energy and environmental issues in Portugal.
Solid knowledge of commercial activities including funding arrangements and legal documentation negotiation.
Technical understanding of a solar farm development, construction and operation.
Understanding of property development, particularly leases.
Understanding of solar farm planning constraints.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Financial modelling skills required.
Ability to establish long term professional relationships with third parties.
Relevant work experience managing the full M&A Process ideally in the Solar industry.
