CIB Compliance is recruiting AML Compliance Officers to staff the new Anti-Money Laundering Hub in Lisbon to deliver transaction monitoring services for CIB transactions undertaken by CIB cross its European operations. The team will thus be dealing with areas including anti-money laundering, fraud, bribery, terrorist financing and high risk clients.


The primary responsibilities of the QA Officer will be to:

Perform a review of Automated Alerts closed at Level 1 and escalated to Level 2

Test the outcome reached by the Level 1 Analysts and the compliance of the alert

management at Level 1 with the Lisbon AML Hub operating procedures and other

relevant applicable procedures

Distinguish between analysis that is compliant; non-compliant with significant failings

non-compliant with minor defects; or compliant with local procedures but which

highlights a defect in the procedures

Contribute to the QA framework for the selection of samples of alerts, testing

parameters and the recording of QA reviews

Produce reports on the outcome of the regular QA review process.

Provide feedback to management, teams of analysts and individual analysts.

QA Officers will operate independently of Level 1 AML Analysts

Strong degree-level academic qualifications

Demonstrable understanding of regulation and the financial markets

Fluent in English (both oral and written communication)

Evidence of outstanding drive, curiosity, good judgment and good attention to detail

Significant analytical skills with the ability to apply good judgment and risk awareness to properly distinguish between more serious and less material failings and identify issues which indicate a need for further improvement of existing procedures

Ability to escalate appropriately to ensure management is made aware of all pressing issues in a timely fashion

Evidence of contributions to suggestions to enhance systems, methodologies and process improvement or simplification

Excellent people skills and in particular the ability to provide constructive feedback to colleagues in a manner that is well received

Rigorous, well-organized with a structured and logical approach

Knowledge of Anti Money Laundering risks based on an interest in current affairs and the work of international bodies such as FATCA

Significant experience in a compliance or quality control function

Knowledge of excel and power-point

Knowledge of products/services offered by a bank to CIB clients
